Great juxtaposition of two technologies

I wish that riverboats like those were still a common sight on Alberta's rivers.

Interesting, I count six in the back row and seven up front but the photograph names five and six.

Those kinds of over-looked information gaps are all too common in archival photographs, unfortunately. There are likely other records that one could consult to perhaps apply some names to the unidentified faces, though.

Such an important image and such an important event. Now that Diphtheria is almost wiped out most young people will never have heard of it. When I was a child it was one of the great fears for families with children. There must have been a big outbreak up there.

There was a big outbreak at the time and the only way to get medicine to them was via air. It was big news at the time.
