Judging by the "Fashion and Varieties" column in Freeman's, no social occasion was complete in the late 1890s (Feb 1898 onwards) without the presence of the Honourable Edith Dillon. The Honourable Ethel's first appearance in the column is May 1899

In Januaary 1905 Edith married Sir William Mahon at Abaseragh Ahascragh Church.

The bride wore a white satin gown with a deep flounce of Brussels lace cught up with a bow of silver tissue, the bodice being trimmed with lace and silver gauze to correspond. Her veil was of lace, and her ornaments diamonds
