People producing powerful pictures!   ;-) William L. Finley and Herman Bohlman began photographing the wildlife on these trips to Three Arch Rocks beginning in 1901. They also witnessed the virtual extermination of thousands of seabirds each week by sportsmen. After studying and photographing the wildlife on the rocks, Finley brought their findings to President Theodore Roosevelt in 1903. Finley showed the images of the wildlife of Three Arch Rocks to Roosevelt and explained the need to protect dwindling populations from hunters and sportsmen. Four years later on October 14, 1907, Finley and Bohlman's efforts were rewarded when President Roosevelt declared Three Arch Rocks a National Wildlife Refuge – the first National Wildlife Refuge west of the Mississippi. – U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

Once again, this is great! I also love that the work they were doing at Three Arch Rocks was so monumental, but the image we have up is of men sleeping... I guess they were wiped out from the work. Tiah

Reminds me of a Civil War scene.

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called artland, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

For what is it ? Against wind ? It is too early to be against UFO. This man looks like Tim Roth the actor.

It does look like TIm Roth! Maybe he time traveled and then did something really wacky with a newspaper?

Bryan Ferry,(Roxy Music ) look alike ? Whatever he's doing.. he's got a knockout suit ! !

This is one of my favourite pictures in the whole Commons. What on earth was the context...?
