The London Stereoscopic Company was founded in 1854 by George S. Nottage. As well as producing photographs, the company acted as a retailer for photographic equipment. The firm was successful in all branches of photography. From 1860 to 1862 the company was based at 54 Cheapside, London. From 1860 to 1861 it also had premise at 313 Oxford Street. In 1863 the company occupied 54 Cheapside and 110 Regent Street. From 1864 onwards it occupied a variety of locations on Cheapside, Regent Street and Bow Churchyard. The company was known by several slightly different names. In 1863 it is referred to as the London Stereoscopic and Photographic Co. and C. de V. Institute. From 1864 it was known as the London Stereoscopic and Photographic Co. Ltd.

This is probably Regent Street. Looking at the high-res image, I think the street name at upper right may be Glasshouse, which is off Regent Street. And at the bottom left, near street level is "108", According to 82.109.94.204/photolondon/pages/details.asp?pid=1249 the address for London Stereoscopic & Photographic Co was 106 & 108 Regent Street, Westminster from July 15 1890 - September 1922

He seems happy to have been caught! Loving this set of pics though - it's a fascinating look at life a long time ago.

Angelo Raciti and his wife Elizabeth seem to have reconciled. In the 1911 census they were living together at Clive Street and had a 2-year old son Giuseppe. Angelo was born in Catania, Sicily
