This is Dean Mathey (1890-1972) of Cranford, N.J. playing in the National Tennis Championships in August, 1916 in Forest Hills, N.Y. He reached the third round that year. He graduated from Princeton in 1912, and Mathey College there is his namesake. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Mathey query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?res=9E02E2D61E31E7...
