Victorian Bling!

The skins are long gone and the species is endangered, they may have been good shots but were too bloodthirsty for my liking! The more you look at that image the more it looks way over the top, what a dreadful and overly ostentatious room!

I'm curious about the spurs and pipes above the mantle... guessing British Colonial objects?

Richard Eric Is that what they are, pipes - the two long things that make an inverted V? Couldn't work them out at all...

Lovely shot and such handsome people. When I was a kid the Traveller names were either Sheridan or McCarthy and when I met a man named Sheridan who was not a traveller I was amazed! These people were very well dressed and very clean which cannot have been easy under the conditions? I love the painting on the caravan.

Sheridan, but not a traveller - most of the Sheridan travellers were in the munster area - not sure if they all travelled from Cavan/Longford, the home of Sheridans!! Love the photo - the tea table setting, the ladies dresses and hair do"s -even the boots on the lady sitting makes her look really contemporary in style!

Paula Sheridan I think she looks really comfortable in her skin! Would love to know what she was waving.

Camping in style and with class, something that sadly died out decades ago.
