He looks 50 years old. Look how big that ball is compared to today's football. No wonder they didn't pass it much. It would be like passing the Goodyear Blimp.

Could this be a "R. C. Hill" from this photo (depicting the 1888 football team of the University of Pennsylvania)? www.archives.upenn.edu/histy/features/sports/football/180... (If this Hill indeed attended the university in 1888/1889, then the apparent age of the man on this 1913 photo fits. ) Who might be the "Robert C. Hill" who gave his name to the Hill College House - hill.house.upenn.edu/old_website/history.html

I recognize the bridge as the Poughkeepsie Bridge. I drove past it last weekend on my way back from Rhinebeck, New York. The Poughkeepsie Bridge (sometimes known as the Poughkeepsie Railroad Bridge, the Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge, the High Bridge, or, since October 3, 2009, the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park) is a steel cantilever bridge spanning the Hudson River between Poughkeepsie, New York on the east bank and Highland, New York on the west bank. Built as a double track railroad bridge, it was completed on January 1, 1889, and went out of service on May 8, 1974. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poughkeepsie_Bridge
