    Photo is stamped 19th Feb 1913. Marked Blohm & Voss. More about Blohm + Voss on Wikipedia.

    perfgeek, My suspicion is that "vorne" here is more in the sense of "fore", as in "fore and aft," which describes the axis of a vessel from bow to stern. When parts are constructed for later installation, it is usual to mark or label them to ensure they are installed the right way round. So "vorne" probably indicates that the turbine is to be installed so that the tube facing us is pointing forwards in the ship.
