    Blue-tailed Douglas TBD-1 Devastator 0322 '6-T-1' of the USN's VT-6 aboard the USS Enterprise (CV-6) in flight. This a/c was later lost after stalling after launch from the Enterprise on 10 Mar 39 -- crew survived.

    Slight typo on the "Serial" noted in the caption above. The Martin XT5M-1 BuNo is not "A-8050," it is A-8051 (see BuNo on the tail in the photo above). A-8050 was the BuNo for a Curtiss N2C-1.

    Douglas XTBD-1 Devastator 9720 (1st prototype). First flight took place on 15 Apr 35. Note the original flat 7-piece canopy as compared to the later bulged design. Later scrapped at NAS Norman, OK on 10 Sep 43.
