It looks almost exactly the same now - the only real difference 'twixt then and now is in the shape of the trees. (Okay, and the boats too, but they change all the time anyway).

Dixon-Scott was right to be concerned about 'changing Britain', especially in this valley. Unfortunately, with cost pressure on local council budgets, it seems, allegedly etc that some developers are riding roughshod over planning regulations by building extensions and expansions to properties. In the old days people would apply for planning permission and then would build accordingly. Nowadays people build what they want knowing that the local councils cannot afford to take them to court and then most get retrospective planning permission. Shame!
