    I saw this on TV as I was living in Spain: A 747 from KLM crashed into a 747 from British Airways on the runway. It is still the biggest plane accident with around 800-1000 persons dead. There where very few survivors if any as both planes where still at full speed.

    it was a KLM plane and a Pan Am plane. 583 people died, 61 survived.
