Fishermen with their catch at Boulia, Queensland

There are a lot of bush yarns and legends in this Outback country, but the people of Boulia reckon the pick of the bunch are the ones about the mysterious Queensland icon, the Min Min Light. Capital of the Channel Country and Land of the Min Min Light, where history and mystery abound. Mysterious eerie balls of unexplained light that follow the traveller, rare birds and trees, prehistoric dinosaurs of the deep, centuries old buildings are all to be found in this remote part of Western Queensland. I suppose this meant he had to know how to play pool. Was sheriff an elected position, and did it involve directing law enforcement?
  • Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums said:
A.Davey sheriffs are elected by their fellow councillors and nowadays the office is essentially ceremonial. In medieval times, though, it was a different story.

This is a serious question; Does anyone know where those hats can be bought? The type in the pic were a far superior design by being wider and thicker.
  • Tom Donald said:
yes those are excellent hats, keeping rain off the neck and ears thanks to that extraordinary diameter. You can get a pretty broad harris tweed cap. In Oban.

I find it quite interesting how they all had to wear white outfits. That might have been the uniform since they were all students. Aside from the white outfits I really like this picture cause of how the strings are aligned on the side.
