According to www.earlyaviators.com/ecowdin2.htm, this is Elliot Channing Cowdin, one of the best known horse breeders, but he died in 1917, aged 45, see also his obituary in the NYT, April 29, 1917 query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?res=9505E3DC1031E0... A lot of Cowdins to keep track of. This fellow is the jockey Elliot Cowdin who rode J. Cheever Cowdin's Buckthorn in the first race of the United Hunts Racing Association meet at Belmont Terminal track on May 22, 1920. Probably Elliot Christopher Cowdin II, as described by B-59.
