Dallas Love Field is a very convenient airport for the city of Dallas that has been around for a considerable amount of time. This specific airport allows people to travel without having to drive all the way to the DFW airport, which is about 45 minutes away. Dallas Love Field opened in 1917, (opened to the public in 1927) and it has been a successful airport with major airline carriers such as Southwest Airlines, Continental Airlines, and Delta Airlines. However, throughout the years there have been a lot of legal issues and court battles that DFW Airport fought in order to keep Dallas Love Field from expanding.

The aircraft appear to be Standard J-1s. See www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=270

I always think of the Kennedy assassination when I hear of Love Field. That famous picture of Johnson being sworn in was at Love Field.

This banner on this picture says Flying Officers, Love Field, Dallas, TEX, just as the title of the page. A panoramic picture taken of the entire squad is a great way of showing each officer, and the two planes as well.
