    The view is of Goskar Rock on the North Beach, Tenby. The railings in the foreground were cast in my great, great grandfather's foundry in Wiseman's Bridge, a hamlet of 3 houses and a pub. It is just hidden behind Monkstone point in the background. The foundry was founded in about 1880 by Thomas David. The railings were still there in the mid 1960s. They had "T. David & Sons, Saundersfoot." cast into the one face of the posts. I am the fifth generation to be involved in engineering. There some 1908 photos of the foundry on my Flickr page.

    A had a lovely holiday at Wiseman's Bridge Daffydd. Anyroad, I hope the LOC don't mind but I've put the image on my blog about landscapes londonlandscapeobservatory.blogspot.com/2011/07/view-at-t... because it reminded me very much of the then fashionable Japanese woodblocks. Many made in the late 19th-c were coming into Europe and they were influencing interior decorating, art, painting, and printmakers like Aubrey Beardsley and the Aesthetic movement.
