A strange and somehow familiar building - is Sligo Townhall

    Streetview (There's a photosphere inside too). NIAH article DIA which mentions (among others) that "WH wins competition (advertised Jun-Jul 1864) with design in 'modern Italian style'. FS laid 12 Oct 1865. Contractors: Crowe Bros, Gt Brunswick St (£6,863) Clerk of works: James Caldwell. Completion delayed until 1870s. First meeting of Corporation held in unfinished building, Jul 1872."
