Wow! That looks to me like Trim, Meath. Trim Castle and the Yellow Steeple in the background. I know that bridge and now it's away from the river on the public foothpath.

I love this one, such a tranquil scene and so very atmospheric. The two waiting to go out fishing, the long well constructed rowing boats their rowlocks standing out clearly and refelectd in the still water, the little steam pinnace all covered up for the weather and the clarity of the whole thing? This is outstanding! I was wondering if the shade above the stack on the steam boat was early smoke but it is in fact nicely situated weed in the background! Another beauty NLI, so very well chosen to begin our day with!
