Staaken R.XIVa (Schül) R 84/18

  • Kees Kort said:
The picture shows the Staaken R.XIVa (Schül) R 84/18. This was a license built machine by Schütte-Lanz. Three machines were ordered by Schütte-Lanz [R.84/18 - R86/18] of which only R.84/18 was finished after the war. Reports give it as three-quarter completed on January 1919 and the German government allowed it to be finished as a civil machine. When completed it was soon scrapped together with the other machines to prevent it from falling in foreign hands. Source: Peter M. Grosz. 1988.
