To others, he was a clever trickster and while he had more than his share of detractors, he was often accused of fraud but was never caught at it -- thanks to the controversy that surrounded the main attempt to expose him.

As I'm sure you already know, this image is a reproduction of a paper negative taken by W. Fox Talbot at Lacock Abbey in August 1835. It has often been reproduced in photographic texts and is generally accepted as the oldest surviving photographic negative. As far as I know it has never been in any way associated with psychic photography.
