    I strongly suspect that this photograph is misidentified. The first Presbyterian Church of Buffalo, NY has a much different footprint, even in 1889 when the chapel was completed. This bears little if any resemblance to the present structure, unless drastic modifications were were made...I just don't see it. Since the original print was mislabeled, we'd love some help from you and other Buffalo residents to figure out what this photograph really depicts. Is it possible that it's some kind of an outbuilding for the church? or is it something else all together? We'd love to know. Thanks!

    I am not familiar with this view at all, nor have I seen it around Buffalo. Clearly, the window is too narrow to be the chapel and the square base is too large and in the wrong position to be the base of the high tower. The porch is in the wrong position to be the edifice too. I will try to investigate this. If you have any additional photographs that are labeled to be our church, please upload them so that i can try to identify them for you.. I am looking for early photographs of the church, especially during construction.

    How fascinating. The house to the left has clearly been removed somehow it is one of the oldest houses in Chatham and would certainly be visible above that tree. It's called the 1812 house, which suggests, of course, that it was built in 1812, over 100 years before the Tracy was built.
