    That is a wonderful picture (Streeton is famous for blue), lifeasdaddy, from roughly the same place as this photograph, but looking 90 degrees to the right. The painting is of Curraghbeena point, where the Musgrave Street wharf now is. I think it was a sandstone quarry at the time of the picture, and the ferry wharf is just out of sight to the left. Streeton painted the other wharf in 1895 - www.artsender.com/gallery/details.asp?PaintingID=430 Both wharfs show up clearly on Google maps (satellite), which is invaluable in these investigations. This is fairly near the photo view but higher up the ridge of Cremorne Point: www.flickr.com/photos/patopostcards/2213485419/ I should get down to Sydney myself and snoop around with my camera. I am in Port Macquarie and relying on memories of living around Cremorne and Mosman.
