Bit sad to have to apply for citizenship in your own country.
Jack Patten reads the resolution at the Day of Mourning Conference on 26 January 1938: "We, representing the Aborigines of Australia…on the 150th Anniversary of the whitemen’s seizure of our country, hereby make protest against the callous treatment of our people…and we appeal to the Australian nation of today…for full citizen status and equality within the community."
Took them until 1967 and a 10 year solid campaign to secure citizenship. The referendum vote at the time was 90% in favour. -

For the first time, Australian Aborigines protested their treatment. "WE APPEAL to the Australian Nation of to-day ... for FULL CITIZEN STATUS and EQUALITY WITHIN THE COMMUNITY"

The road winding upwards must be Stalheimskleiva, once famous for being a rather hazardous drive.

This is not a part of Hardangerfjord. The road between Voss and Stalheim continues down the Naeroydalen valley and ends in Gudvangen. This is where Naeroyfjord starts (UNESCO World Heritage). Naeroyfjord is a branch of the longest fjord in Norway, Sognefjord (204 km long). Check out www.naeroyfjord.com
