Building demolished, but pagoda saved. The story so far: "Jimmy Woo’s restaurant opened in 1950 and was sold twice before closing in 2008. It continued to operate as a bar — renamed the Red Parrot Nightclub and Lounge — before shutting all operations in 2012. The iconic pagoda was removed in 2014 from the roof of the former Woo's Pagoda restaurant in Eau Claire. A crane was used to move the structure onto a flatbed truck. "Staff are asking the community to help locate an indoor facility for the structure so that it can be repaired. They said an indoor facility needs to be located by May 15 [2017], otherwise the pagoda will be dismantled and removed from Banbury Place. Iyeyasu is now written Ieyasu. This is in Nikko, Tochigi, Japan, within Tosho-gu, the temple built to house Tokugawa Ieyasu's remains. Tokugawa Ieyasu was the founder and first shogun of the Tokugawa/Edo era in Japan, from 1600. This pagoda was built in 1648 according to the official Tosho-gu site. It is located here The composition of this photograph is deceptively simple. Reviewing Flickr, most people take a head-on shot of the pagoda. Those who take a shot from the corner tend to choose the opposite corner. Few people include the railing and almost none include the approach to the pagoda. All photographers over-expose in order to see the details under the roofs, whiting out the sky. NOW
