Another photo of Edward P. Warner, Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Air), 1926-1929, during a visit to North Island. Warner was deeply involved in aviation, before and after his post with the Navy. There are several photos of Warner's visit in the SDASM's collection, such as this one: www.flickr.com/photos/sdasmarchives/6426859171/ From Wikipedia: "[Warner] was an American pioneer in aviation and a teacher in aeronautical engineering. Besides that he was also a writer, scientist and a Statesman, a member of the Civil Aeronautics Board at its founding in 1938, a Delegate of the United States to the 1944 Chicago Conference for the Convention on International Civil Aviation, and an international civil servant. obviously at a baseball game, I would guess by the larger billboards at the back, early 20th century Roi-tan was a cigar company, as was/is Cuesta-Rey. Cuban cigars. Could this be at Guantanamo Bay? Not saying it was taken here, but if you look along the back wall in this photo, you'll see large painted billboards as well, so it's probably in the 1910's 1920's www.flickr.com/photos/library_of_congress/3739604190/
