Nor is she mentioned in the cursory New York Times stories that reported stages of Theodore Roosevelt's South American excursion. Mrs. Roosevelt (Edith Carow Roosevelt) went with TR to Argentina, Brazil and Chile, but did not accompany the former President on his expedition to the interior of the continent, through the insect-infested rain forest and down the River of Doubt.
