  This is a photo of a sailor (Manfred H. Mueller?) in front of the entrance to the Waikiki Theatre on Kalakaua Avenue. The theatre would close in 2002, and be demolished in 2005. See: cinematreasures.org/theaters/838/

  This 1926 movie was the first to have a soundtrack using the synchronized Vitaphone system - there was no dialog but the music and effects were heard. According to Wikipedia there is a surviving print at UCLA's Film and Television Archive.

In terms of the licensing, we've got them set to "Public Domain", which I thought was more permissive than any other CC license type? We can change them to "Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike", but that seems like it's technically more restrictive. Also, the blog post you linked to (blog.flickr.net) states that the CC licensing had to be in effect before Flickr's account announcement (11/1/2018). Have you gotten confirmation that the licensing can be updated now?
