Lady Williams-Taylor, born Jane Fayrer Henshaw (1868-1950), was wife of Sir Frederick Williams-Taylor (GM of the Bank of Montreal), and a personal friend of Queen Mary. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Williams-Taylor Her daughter, Brenda Germaine Henshaw Williams-Taylor (1889-1948), was the mother of Brenda Diana Duff Frazier (1921-1982), an American debutante famous for appearing on the cover of Life in 1938, and much later for being photographed by Diane Arbus for Esquire. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brenda_Frazier

Caption is wrong. Probably swapped with another Bain picture. I find www.loc.gov/pictures/item/ggb2005018167/ to be captioned Lady Williams Taylor -- but is clearly a man. And the same or very similar photo appears on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logan_Feland

And the caption on the negative of the other photo is "Gen. Logan Feland", not "Ben. This appears to be part of a series of three taken at the same place on board a ship: www.loc.gov/pictures/related/?va=exact&sp=3&st=ga... (McFadden, Rochester)

pennylrichardsca: Thanks for the background information on Lady Williams-Taylor. We will add more detail to the record when we fix the incorrect caption! swanq and artolog: Thanks for figuring out the switch! Two adjacent negatives had their captions switched, and yes, definitely Gen. Logan Feland rather than Ben. We will make fixes to both records when we update.
