The phonograph is an Aeolian-Vocalion model, and the record she is holding is from the same label. "Vocalion (pronounced "vo-CAL-yun") was founded in 1916 by the Aeolian Piano Company of New York City, which introduced a retail line of phonographs at the same time. Unlike the records then available, they were a reddish-brown colour, and the company's promotional material stressed the "red records". After it became legal, the company launched a line of lateral records in a 14000 series in 1919. And is there still anything to add? Yes. The Aeolian Company did not just record May Peterson for their record label, they used her photograph in advertisements at least as early as 1919. see this page from the Saturday Evening Post. Might even be the same dress.
