    Did you notice? This card is probably the serious expression of a Halloween superstition from back then, and the other cards similar to it (with the verse and lady looking in the mirror) are all poking fun at this superstition (and maybe even this card). Ha ha, what fun they had with it!

    this is adorable. it shows then that Halloween was more about fortunes than anything else. I collect vintage Halloween. It was an adult holiday from 1890-1930 and was anything but trick or treat as now. 😈
