Lockheed KC-130R Hercules (BuNo 160628; c/n 382-4776) would leave Marine Corps service and be transferred to the Chilean Air Force (Fuerza Aérea de Chile (FACh)) as a C-130H (FACh 990) in 2005. Sadly, on December 9, 2019, the aircraft was reported missing and presumably lost with all 38 souls aboard, during a flight from Punta Arenas to the Chilean Antarctic base at Base Presidente Eduardo Frei Montalva. The date of this photo must be in error. The aircraft entered service in 1983, was originally USAF 82-0080 and transferred directly to the USMC.

Well, the Hercules is a USMC KC-130F its Bu number looks like 148893 to me. The code QD readily visible on the tail belonged to VMGR-152. Stig
