"Lewis James (July 29, 1892 - February 19, 1959) was a vocalist and among the most active of recording artists in the United States from 1917 through much of the 1930s. He was a member of The Shannon Four, The Revelers, and The Criterion Trio. He had many Top Ten hits during that time, including "My Baby Boy", "Till We Meet Again", "What'll I Do", "All Alone)" and "Pal of My Cradle Days", among others.

In the 1920 census he is living at 68 Montague Street, Brooklyn, New York City, New York and in the 1930 census he is living at 3442 85th Street, Queens, New York City, New York. I don't know what address this would be in 1923.

The Revelers were a vocal quartet plus a pianist. Tenor Lewis James, baritone Elliot Shaw, and bass Wilfred Glenn were fixtures with the fourth tenor and the pianist changing. According to the Wikipedia article, "The quartet, organized in 1918, performed under the name The Shannon Four before changing their name to The Revelers in 1925."
