If my sight is correct: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Viktoria_Luise_of_Prussia and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duchess_Cecilie_of_Mecklenburg-Schw... so the photo was probably made between 1905 and 1913.

Princess Viktoria is a wonderful princess.

Cecilie of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (Cecilie Auguste Marie; 20 September 1886 – 6 May 1954) was a Crown Princess of Germany and Prussia as the wife of German Crown Prince William, the son of German Emperor William II Victoria Louise of Prussia (Viktoria Luise Adelheid Mathilde Charlotte; 13 September 1892 – 11 December 1980) was the only daughter and the seventh child of William II, German Emperor and Empress Augusta Victoria. She was their last surviving child. Princess Victoria Louise is the maternal grandmother of Queen Sophie of Spain and the former King Constantine II of the Hellenes. She was the Duchess of Brunswick by marriage.

Uncle, are you saying that WWI doesn't look like itself? This is 1914 -- war's outbreak.

Agree with Wystan. This is early WWI, and -based upon the nature of the cannon (no recoil system is visible) - it's probably on the Eastern Front. Perhaps about the time of the battle of Tannenberg (26 - 30 Aug 1914). The uniforms don't show much dirt or wear.
