Archiseek has an article with the details. 1855 - built as the Athenaeum - a hall, ballroom, concert venue 1875 - renamed The Munster Hall 1877 - renamed the Opera House after extensive rebuild as a theatre 1955 - destroyed by fire.

For the final night on 4 May 1883, they put on La Traviata at 8 o'clock. It was "produced in its entirety, by the unanimous desire of the Press and Public". Signor A. De Gabriele was the conductor. Nice nuggets of information too, that there was a special train to Queenstown (Cobh) at 11.15 to get operagoers home. And there was no performance on Saturday 5 May, "as the Company leave for Glasgow". (Cork Examiner 4 May 1883) And they were back in July 1883! There's an ad in the Cork Examiner on Saturday, 28 July 1883 for Signor A. De Gabriele for 6 performances of Italian Opera commencing Monday 30 July until Saturday 4 August...
