James Eric Drummond, 7th Earl of Perth[a] GCMG, CB, PC (17 August 1876 – 15 December 1951) was a British politician and diplomat as well as the first Secretary-General of the League of Nations (LN) (1920–1933). After his time with the League of Nations he became British ambassador to Rome (1933–1939) and later, chief adviser on foreign publicity in the Ministry of Information (1939–1940). Indeed, in the catalogue there is a note: Male, first on left side, was an Irish delegate for the League of nations in 1936, which can be assumed where this picture was taken.
