    The image of the farmer-poet Carneddog and his wife, Catrin, who were forced to leave their farm in the Carneddau Mountains due to the death of one of their sons, is Geoff Charles’ most recognised work, and one of the most well-known 20th century Welsh images. Being too old to look after the farm themselves, Richard and Catrin Griffith left the home that had been in their family for centuries in September 1945 to live with another son in the English midlands.
