This photo is shot to the West (roughly). Lake is Wesley Lake (I added tag). Both Asbury Park (North side the lake, right of photo) and Ocean Grove (South side of the lake, left of photo) are shown here.

That's an interesting one, because it doesn't include the lighthouse, as in your other panorama:

Do you think that Moore might be have been positioned in front of the lighthouse when he took this shot?
  • Brenda Anderson said:
It is definitely from a lower angle, so it's quite likely he was at the level of the bottom of the lighthouse. I'll have a look sometime through my castlepoint shots and see if I can find a similar angle. All else fails, I'll just have to try to duplicate it next time I'm out there. LOL. :)

If you're keen to do re-enactments, we have some marvellous wrestling photos in the collections we're keen to do something with this year .....!

Now the thought of that has me laughing out loud!

Cockatoo Island

This appears to have been taken from White Horse Point on what is now Elkington Park. A current view from a similar location is here. A photo taken from Cockatoo Island looking back to White Horse Point from around the same time as this photo can be found here.

what are the frame boxes around the trees/shrubs for?
  • Don Shearman said:
Probably to protect them from the local wildlife.
