Looks like it-- I wonder if there is a reason or if the first engine is pulling the second out?

I'm really confused. Your Commons Statement: osulibrary.oregonstate.edu/archives/FlickrCommonsNoKnownC... indicates high resolution versions are available for purchase. I go to the Duplication Services page: osulibrary.oregonstate.edu/archives/DuplicationServices.html and then I go to the Photograph Duplication Procedures & Use Policy page: osulibrary.oregonstate.edu/archives/archive/arch121.html There I read: "High-resolution scan = $5.00 per scan [600 dpi TIFF saved to CD or downloaded from ContentDm]" So why is there a near-600dpi version available on Flickr for free?

ps. I am not interested in using these - I am checking public statements for internal consistency.

Thanks for your comments and concern, clarification is good! And you are quite right, for us high resolution download and duplication fees, copyright, and repository attribution are all quite separate issues. The information on our Duplication Services page is for all our digitized images (those in all the OSU Libraries digital collections). We point people back to our site to encourage them to find out more about our photo collections, more information about downloading other pictures in the OSU Libraries digital collections, or if they want to purchase a cd of the high res image. However, as you point out, the resolution for our Commons images is high, and from what I have heard from Flickr Commons users, this means that images we have in our Commons account are at the resolution they need and downloading isn't an issue. As for copyright and attribution... We cannot force people to say that they found the pictures on our Flickr page, or even that the pictures are ours, but we certainly encourage people, in the spirit of scholarship and so that others can find the image themselves, to credit the OSU Archives.
