    This is a gorgeous shot of a steam engine and train sending up the plumes to herald another journey about to begin! What a wonderful sight and from way back in 1964???? Given the recent detail that has been emerging about the development or destruction of Irish railways (depending on you point of view) I would have thought that these were all being pulled by diesel engines???

    According to Wikipedia: CIE was nationalised in 1950 and settled on a policy of replacing steam with diesel locomotives, a process that was completed in 1962.

    There were only 18 of these Class WT 2-6-4 locomotives built, numbered 1–10 and 50–57 so 245 is the time not engine number. Full stop needed. Looks like No.8 above. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCC_Class_WT
