Food inspection. This man is using a pitchfork to inspect a heap of potatos. Location unknown.

  • Servee Schellinx said:

Translation, "You use the pitchfork (carefully) upside down using only the handle to stir the potato's around to inspect them!" Apparently a pitchfork was the only long handle tool available to theguy :-)

Belgian Milk wagon (LOC)

  • jamica1 said:
I guess actually Flemish milk wagon. Dog drawn I see. And the chap in uniform does not so much look like he is making a purchase as he is noting something down. Perhaps he is an inspector of some sort?
  • Clear Eggnog said:
Getting a ticket for parking, or not being in possession of a licence to sell unpastuerised milk?
  • Willem said:
Mystery solved. The inspector is writing her a ticket for serving milk from a crooked vial. This is revealed by the following postcard: www.flickr.com/photos/postkaartjes/438959601/ The inspector is measuring whether the vial she serves her customers milk from, does indeed serve half a litre or a litre, whatever the legal standard is.
