Children's Room - Mauretania

    What really IS unusual is that the base of the rocking horse is not ''complete''..normally the base of this type of rocking horse, {Marqua stand or Swing stand} has a cruciform shape, with cross pieces to give stability. I wonder if the horse was moved from it's usual place for the photograph, and there looks like a bolt is visible at the ends of the stand for it to be firmly bolted down while the ship was in motion. This would mean cross pieces were not needed{?}

Cúchulainn loved the Mód Direach!

    Established in 1859, Dundalgan Press is one the oldest printing works in Ireland. The firm was started by William Tempest, and expanded under his son Henry (1881–1964).
