This photo appeared in The Sunday Oregonian, March 26, 1916, SECTION FIVE, Image 71 with the caption:
"George W. Guthrie, the United States Ambassador to Japan, calls frequently on the Emperor. The automobile has not yet replaced the state coach in Japan, though there are many "devil wagons" in use there."
