Hobey Baker, Sr., was captain of the Princeton football team in 1913. LOC --- My poll of Google entries indicates that Baker's first name, when spelled with a "y", invariably precedes it with an "e", thus: "Hobey Baker." However, Google entries often spell it without a "y": "Hobie." I found an old New York Times story with this spelling. BUT -- nobody but Bain's incompetent scribe ever spelled it "Hoby." I'm just sayin' . . . .

Hobey Baker, Sr. (1892-1918). It looks like he died in World War I. Before he died he had a son, Hobey Baker, Jr.(1917-2009). I will add him to Wikipedia if I can find enough on him..
