Actually the first design of this Handley Page bomber which had the identification O/100. In this design the fuel tanks were placed in the engine nacelles directly behind the engines, hence the long nacelle. This design was soon changed in the O/400 (fuel tanks the fuselage) as a hit in the fuel tanks in the nacelle set the whole nacelle including the engine on fire. The capture of this very early O/100 on 1 January 1917 was a very lucky case for the Germans, who examined and tested the machine very carefully.
