Guest, the husband of Amy Phipps, of Pittsburg, has been made treasurer of King George's household. He is the officer next below the lord steward and acts as his deputy In his absence. The lord steward sits in an office known as the board of green cloth and commands the officers and servants of the royal house hold except those of the chamber, the chapel and the stables. The steward of a hotel isn't regarded as of much con sequence socially, but the lord steward of a royal household Is Indeed a per son of note and social influence.
