Henry Richmund Inigo-Jones Born 17th December 1891 London. The 1901 census records him living at the family home Kelston Park, Bath.

with his mother Elinor Margaret [b.1860 London], older sisters Alise [b.1885 London] and Maud [b.1890 London] and eleven staff. His father [who is Major-General Richmund Inogo-Jones] is not recorded as living at the house.
The 1911 census records him living at 17 Grosvenor Square, London with his grandmother Margaret Charteris [b.1835 Dublin, Ireland] along with, again, eleven domestic servants.
He joined the Scots Guards as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1912 and was promoted Lieutenant in 1913.
Died 14th September 1914 France. Left £2240 9s 5d to his mother Elinor Margaret Jones and Edmund Butler Charteris [half-brother?] His father predeceased him on 20th July 1914.

Lieutenant Henry Richmund Inigo Jones SCOTS GUARDS. Son of Major General Inigo Richmund Jones CB CVO (Late SCOTS GUARDS) (23 Sep 1848-20 July 1914) and his second wife Elinor Margaret Charteris. In 1901 his father would have been away commanding the Guards Brigade fighting in the Boer War. Grandson of Lieutenant Colonel Inigo William Jones JP DL 1st Dragoons of Kelston Park, Somerset, (b 1806-d 1878).

Lieutenant H R I Jones SCOTS GUARDS was killed in action on 14th September 1914, aged 22. On 14th August 1914 the 1st Battalion Scots Guards were part of 1st (Guards) Brigade in 1st Division of the BEF.//

You have to feel sorry for his mother, losing her husband and son both within a couple of months.

Which battalion of the Grenadiers? And for that matter they number their companies rather than give them letters. And I can't find him as a casulaty on the CWGC site.

Try 25203 Pte Llewellyn Jones of the Welsh Regiment, listed killed 13 April 1918? Another alternative being that this is one of the two Pte Llewellyn Jones who served in the Grenadier Guards; 26910 or 26766; both of who appear to have survived the First World War.//

The list of UK Soldiers who died in the Great War shows his birthplace as Llanfairfechan, Caernarfonshire, Wales and place of enlistment as Ferndale (Glamorganshire?)

I don't see either gentleman in the 1911 census (or the 1901 either!), so I suspect they may be visiting from Over the Water.

If it is my Myles, he died in action in France, 28th of September 1915. That Bertie lived to be 82.
