  Bostock & Wombwell's Menagerie on the road. The elephant is pulling one of the trucks, behind it you can just make out one of the camels which is assisting.

  3 January 1930 was a Friday. It is amazing that such a hideous streetscape is full of interesting things. Those poles look very tall to me. Maybe because there are no trees to soften the lines.
