It seems to be looking east out over St Alphonsus Convent to the sea. About here, I think: maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V2,714802,736883,11,9

The obvious place for an elevated view in the cemetery is the O'Connell round tower. Shadows are being cast right to left, so we are probably looking East-ish. Sure enough, we would see the Botanic Gardens if looking North, and a lot of railway looking South. Even by the time of the 25" map at GeoHive, nearer the end of the possible date range, the only terraced houses are to the east.
