  This seems likely to be Columbia University commencement on June 4, 1913. According to NYT, the following day query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9E01E0D81F3AE633A... Gorgas (adjoining picture) received an honorary degree that day.

All signs do point to this being Columbia University's commencement on June 4, 1913, with honorary degree recipient Dr. Alexis Carrel in the center of the group.   Photo is dated 6/4/13. LOC -- This photo is mislabeled. These are Columbia Alumni, but not the "polo" team. A different photo in the series shows a fake alumni "polo" team: www.flickr.com/photos/library_of_congress/3389736913/in/p...
