    "Max Karl Wilhelm von Gallwitz (2 May 1852 – 18 April 1937) was a German general from Breslau (Wrocław), Silesia, who served with distinction during World War I on both the Eastern and Western Fronts." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_von_Gallwitz Towards the end of 1915 he succeeded Mackensen as commander of the Eleventh Army and led the campaign against Serbia (under the command of Mackensen, who was promoted to field marshall).

    He commanded 11th German army while attacking Serbia in the october 1915 offensive. His troops crossed the Danube from Panchevo until Djerdap. He was awarded for this military success. Unfortunately because of his guns, out of which many were of the highest calibre possible lot of towns were destroyed and many civilians died. By the way he was artillery officer
