    The O'Mahony of Kerry at the DIB, a colourful Parnellite character I had never heard of until today. O'Mahony retired to a hunting lodge at Coolballintaggart, Co. Wicklow, built elaborate gardens, bred Irish wolfhounds, and lived as an ‘Irish chieftain’ with saffron kilt and attendant bagpipers. There is a pic of him with a wolfhound and a Gandalf beard at the bottom of this history page

    It is interesting to see a Parnellite in 1915 talking about "our new-born liberty", they really were banking on Home Rule becoming a thing whenever WW1 ended, until it was all upended in 1916.
